Scott Dalton, the founder of Mayodan Outdoor Sports had a fishing rod in his hand since he was able to walk, so his “vision” didn’t just happen overnight. Anything to do with being outdoors, Scott was there. He is extremely knowledgeable on how to “catch the big ones”! When planning the opening of an outdoor sporting goods store, he wanted to give people in Rockingham County a place to shop local and be able to get what they want without having to drive a long distance. He always loved when customers came in and told him to “get your camera ready”, which is usually when he walked outside to take a picture of the big catch of the day, the trophy deer, coyote, fox, or whatever someone wanted to show off!! Thanks to everyone who made the dream become a reality! Scott Dalton started the business in 2014. Quint and Kim Haley purchased the business from Scott at the end of 2017. In June, 2018 in Quint and Kim moved the business from 400 West Main Street to it's current location in the center of town at 100 East Main Street. The building was completely remodeled with an outdoors atmosphere and the inventory is being expanded daily. When it comes to knowledge Quint has also been hunting and fishing since he was a kid and the staff is very helpful too in helping you pick out the right things you need. Stop by to see us and let us be your one stop shop for all of your outdoor needs.
